Jim went on a water picnic with two ladies who were dressed very beautifully. The ladies thought that the boat was not clean. They rubbed the cushion and sat down. A drop of water fell on their costumes leaving a permanent mark. Jim took great care to scull at a distance from them. But he couldn't help the water from going over their dresses.
The girls didn't complain but huddled up close together. They shrank and shuddered every time a drop touched them. Jim got wild about rowing and splashed more and more water on them. He then asked his friend Bow to row the boat. But this man also spread a pint of water over them. The poor girls tried to protect themselves with their laced umbrellas and drew rugs and coats over themselves.
Thus, the narrator felt annoyed about his trip that day as it was his fault that the ladies got their dresses wet with water.
Hope this helps!
