He treated her with a feeling of pity on her and showed a great sympathetic feeling towards her. He felt that it would be cruel to leave her so and He wrapped her in almost gentlessness clothes almost of a woman which some neighbours had brought and then lifted her in strong arms and bore out in the the fresh air in field that lay between hovel and his house

Joe Thompson treated Maggie with tenderness and warmth.

Explanation:

Joe Thompson realized that no one wanted to take a bed-ridden child along with them. He decided to take her along with him. When Maggie cried for help to Joe, the tenderness in his heart grew. He felt very broken to think about leaving Maggie alone. Joe decided Maggie to not leave her alone. One challenge was still left for Maggie and Joe about the reaction of Joe's wife. Mrs. Thompson was very happy to have Maggie in her arms.
