How did john rowntree find the weather when he arrived at guwahati

In his travelogue, "Memoirs of a Chota Sahib" John Rowntree described the the importance of Guwahati in those days. One has to pass through Guwahati before he can manage to arrive in Kolkata or Assam.

It was a splendid place because the writer found the weather of Guwahati as rainy. It was humid and very pleasant for the writer and any tourist.

Here the  author  rowntree  said that the  guwahati was  a important  place  and he  provide great  explanation  which strange  place where the rivers  get dried up into the   part of the  hot weather.
