Kalam peeped out of the window and started at the petite temple town that had been his own little world since birth. The thought of his mother back home broke him from within, but the call of the better future filled his heart with exhilaration.

The initial days at Ramnathpuram were tough for Kalam. He kept feeling homesick. He never missed a opportunity to visit Rameshwaram even if it's for a day or two. He missed his mother's gentle touch at bed time and the stories she narrated. Ramnathpuram was a busier town. Sometimes in disturbed sleep he would ponder about his past that came in his mind. However, he knew he had to succeed as his father had invested his complete faith in him. He worked hard. He studied in Schwards high school for four years, he envisioned his dreams more clearly than before and set his goals. The simplicity of Rameshwaram never died and on several forlorn nights ,he thought about the people he left behind.
