Your answer as follows:

Priest of Rameshwaram Shiva temple, Pakshi Lakshamana Sastry was a close family friend of Kalam's family.

Their locality had both Hindu and Muslim families.

All the 3 childhood friends of Kalam came from Orthodox Hindu brahmin families.

Kalam's house was just 10 minutes away from the famous Rameshwaram Shiva temple, which was full of Hindu pilgrims.

Answer:

Abdul Kalam's family fostered a Hindu-Muslim unity. During the annual Shri Sita Rama Kalyanam, they used to arrange boats with a special platform for carrying idols of the Lord from the temple to the marriage site, situated in the middle of the pond called Rama Tirtha. His mother and grandmother taught him both, the Prophets and the Ramayana as the bed-time story. From this, we get to know that, Abdul Kalam's family fostered Hindu-Muslim unity.
