ashoka after the war realised the importance of life and he also saw many people dieing and so he felt guilty. after the war he followed Buddhism.

he had promised his wife,a buddhist to not kill anyone while she was alive,but diring the war thousands were killed. his wife went away. later on his soon and daughter became Buddhists and went to lanka and soon he became a buddhist too.
