On 7 November 1917, Bolshevik leader Vladimir Lenin led his leftist revolutionaries in a revolt against the ineffective Provisional Government (Russia was still using the Julian calendar at the time, so period references show a 25 October date). As Marx was dead 30 years before actual Russian revolution he did not start it.

As Marx was dead 30years before actual Russian revolution he did not have direct role in revolution. I don't think Lenin as the revolutionary inspired by Marx I would rather call him opportunist who used/exploited the idea of Marx for his gain. Marx actually believed socialism would start and revolution would be possible in Britain as it was highly industrialized and there was class difference in UK. But Lenin thought he could use this idea in Russia which was under pathetic rule of king Czar . Russia at that time had no class struggle first because it was ruled by King and second there were not that much industries which can consist of thousands of labourers instead it was country full of farmers.

So Lenin grew impatient and he knew these people cannot start revolution so he only started revolution and later claimed he started it on behalf of labourers and farmers. And to consider Lenin and Stalin to be inspired by great man like Marx is gross humiliating Marx. These two leaders are the mass murderers. Stalin alone is responsible for the genocide of 10 million Ukraine people. 10 million that is more than one corore people . We can safely assume Hitler record is better than Stalin's.
