Language played a role of binding and promoting equality among the people.
=> Like in Poland, the use of Polish language was restricted and it was mandatory to use Russian Language.
=> But people started using Polish for church gatherings and to spread ideas of nationalism.
=> So, the use of Polish language came to be seen as a symbol of the struggle against Russian dominance.
