In the poem "Lochinvar" the poet described a boy named Lochinvar, he was a courageous knight and undeterred romantic person. He loved Ellen but Ellen's father disapproved him. Ellen agreed to marry another person so Lochinvar came to won his love.

Lochinvar gets off at the hall. He assured Ellen and his family that he came here to celebrate Ellen's marriage celebration. After some time Ellen offered a glass of wine to him, he drunk and threw the glass with anger.

Later Lochinvar offered her a final dance and she agreed. While they started to dance the whole hall was sparkled. Later Lochinvar touched her hands and whispered in her ear. Ellen was hypnotized of his love. Both of them ran across the hall and get away from the chasing men.
