As soon as Mrs Packletide shot the tiger, the tiger jumped off to the other side and died.
The villagers jumped with exuberance and went to the village and spread the news that "Memsahib has shot the tiger". Everyone but loona Bimberton were joyous.
She being jealous of Mrs Packletide, wanted to regain her "lost fame" and so wanted to detect the loopholes of that incident.
