Answer:

Explanation:

In this story ‘A Triumph of Surgery’, the writer James Herriot and his partners had two glasses of wine before the lunch and they also drank many glasses of wine while going through their lunch courses.

They were celebrating the occasion ceremoniously, due to the successful treatment of a dog named Tricky, which was a pet of Mrs. Pumphrey. This dog had to be hospitalized, as it was overweight and unable to take foods.

The veterinary doctor kept the dog only on water for first two days and then let it play cheerfully with other dogs, which made it completely cure without any medicine.

Hiiii....... Here is your answer

Answer:

Lunch became a ceremonial occasion for Mr. Harriot and his partners as when tricky was admitted in his hospital. It's owner Mrs. Pumphrey used to send wine, brandy etc. for tricky , author itself and his partners used to drink that because tricky was unwell so he was not allowed by Mr.Herriot to drink wine etc. Therefore whenever wine came so author drink that and it became a ceremonial occasion

Hope it helps
