After the order from Berlin, M.Hamel became more sympathetic to his students and taught his lesson with more patience. He trued to explain with full enthusiasm as he wanted to give all his knowledge about the French language to his students, before going away. He regretted for not giving much importance to the French language.
He said that the French language was the most beautiful, clearest and logical language in the world and that they must guard it and never forget it.
When the clock struck 12, he stood up vey pale and wrote on the blackboard ," Vive La France" as a tribute to the country and its native language.
