Maggie was girl, young but nearly paralyzed. Her mother had died already and there was nothing much left that a havoc could take from her. Then, after being denied by everybody because of her condition a man named Joe Thompson pitied her and brought her to his home. He and his wife, Mrs. Thompson was childless. This in turn, had turned Mrs. Thompson grumpy, egoistic, and self-centered.
Though she was desperate for a child, she loathed at Maggie when Joe brought her home. For her, Maggie was a mess, and no less than an unwanted orphan. But things started to change when Joe started making her understand about what Maggie has suffered till now.
Mrs. Thompson's dislikes for Maggie seemed to vanish, which made her happy after all. She now knew what it really was to love a child. As for Maggie, she truly turned out to be an angel in disguise for the Thompson family.
