How did Mahatma Gandhi decided to withdraw the non co-operation movement

The Non-cooperation movement was withdrawn because of the Chauri Chaura incident. Although he had stopped the national revolt single-handedly, on 10 March 1922, Gandhi was arrested. On 18 March 1922, he was imprisoned for six years for publishing seditious materials.

due to :

1)chauri, chauri incident,people turned violence.

2)The people of India were not ready for the nation wide movement of mass struggle.

3) majority of the Indian national Congress felt that the Non -Cooperative movement is un necessary and tiresome.
