Gandhiji was a great believer in social justice. He championed the cause of downtrodden and the poor .He improve the conditions of untouchables whom he called harijans children of God.He worked tirelessly to remove prejudices and change the mindset of people .He started a nationwide movement for all the harijans.He believed that political freedom was meaningless without social reforms.Laws would be effective only if there was a change of heart.
