Mandela realized that his people were subjected to all kinds of hardships under the cruel policies of the whites they were deprived of even the basic rights this created a type of freedom for his oppressed people this hunger changed Mandela from a frightening young man into a bold one drove a law abiding man like Mandala into a criminal and forced a family loving man to live a monastic life
