Answer:

Mandela realised in his youth that it was not just his freedom that was being curtailed, but the freedom of all blacks. This changed the fearful man to a fearless rebel . He sacrificed the comfort of a settled family life to fight for a greater cause. He joined the ANC and this changed him from a frightened young man to a bold one who fought tough against racial prejudices.

Answer:

initially Mandela did not have a hunger for freedom but as he grew up he released that it was not just his freedom that was being curtailed but the freedom of all his people. thus the hunger for this freedom turned into the hunger for freedom of all his people. thus he joined the ANC(African National Congress) which turned him from a frightened you boy into a bold man.
