Answer:

Explanation:

Nelson Mandela’s views on freedom changed with age and experience. During his childhood he had a carefree attitude and felt free in doing things without getting worried about the outside world. He considered freedom as a tool of doing things which he enjoyed like running in the fields near his mother`s hut, taking bath in the stream flowing his village etc. In simple words he regarded the word freedom to be associated to himself only.

It was only during the later part of his life he realized a different definition of freedom.  As he became a victim of oppression and discrimination in the hands of the society he soon realized that his definition of freedom was unreal.

He sensed a feeling of bondage when he faced discrimination in order to enjoy basic human rights like earnings, marriage and family etc. He soon realized the discriminating behavior was not restricted to him only but to all those people belonging to his race. He soon realized that a collective movement against such discrimination need to be initiated to restore equality in the society.

Hope this helps.

With age and experience, Mandela understood the real meaning of freedom. As a young boy, he thought that he was born free and believed that as long as he obeyed his father and abided by the customs of his tribe, he was free in every possible manner. As he grew older, freedom to raise a family and freedom to earn livelihood started dominating his thoughts. Gradually he realised that he was selfish during his boyhood. He slowly understood that it was not just his freedom that was being curtailed, but the freedom of all blacks. It was the freedom from fear and prejudice. Age and experience widened his perspective of freedom.
