The Nazis used a number of ways of propaganda to influence the common masses and played on their thoughts and feelings.

They used media to great effect and carefully to win support from the regime and popularise their worldview.

Nazi ideas were spread through visual images, films, radio, posters, catchy slogans and leaflets.

  1. Socialists and liberals were represented as weak and described and degenerate. They were represented as malicious foreign agents.
  2. Propaganda films were create hatred for jews. The most infamous film was the Eternal Jew.
  3. Orthodox jews were streotyped and marked. They were shown with flowing beards wearing kaftans. They were referred to as vermin, rats and pests. Their movement was compared to that of rodents.

Nazism worked on the minds of people, tapped their emotions, and turned their hatred and anger at those marked as 'undesirables'.
