Mendel proved that traits can be dominating or recessive by using monohybrid cross.
He saw that F1 generation was tall and it's genotype was Tt which showed the dominating trait, but in F2 generation he observed that 3 plants were tall that had a 'T' in its genotype and one plant was dwarf which had both recessive traits(tt).
