when mebbin came to know that the old tiger died just because it was old and weak and not becoz of mebbin's shot, she blackmailed her that she has to pay her enough amount of money so that she can buy a house she had seen and if she (packletide) wanted her(mebbin) to tell this secret to no one ,especially to mrs.bimberton and keep her mouth shut.
