miss sullivan , the teacher of helen keller, was a very gentle women. on other hand, she knew helen's situation as in her childhood , she herself had faced such situation i.e., when miss sullivan was a child, she had some problem with her eyes due to which she could hardly see anything. due to this, she had a soft corner for an annoying kid like helen.

When Helen was unable to understand, she explained her gently as if she was her mother. she never got angry or frustrated by her doubts and always explained her slowly and calmly. she always stood by her even when Helen went to her college. she explained her everything point to point and was with her till the end . she made Helen successful and played a very major role in Helen's successful life. this proves that miss Sullivan was a successful teacher.
