How did Mrs dorlings received the narrator?

When the narrator went to the address told by her mother where mrs. dorling lived, a women came and opened the door in such a way as she wanted to prevent it from further opening. She was recived in such a manner that narrator feels to have come on a wrong address. Mrs Dorling was hiding herself behind the door. But the narrator sees the cordigan worn by mrs dorling given to her by narrator's mother. The narrotor recognised it. Feeling it that she has recognised her, She questions Have you come back , I thought that noone would come back. Mrs Dorling her to back later as she is busy and did not invite nrrator in her house.Then the narrator went oof from that address.
