The Nazis used media carefully to win support for the regime and popularise its worldview.

•Nazi ideas were spread through posters, films, radio, catchy slogans and leaflets.

The groups identified as the 'enemies' of Germans were mocked, abused, stereotyped and called evil.

•Socialists and liberals were made out to be weak and degenerate. They were attacked as malicious foreigners.

•Propaganda films were made to spread hatred for Jews, the most popular of them being The Eternal Jew.

•Orthodox Jews were stereotyped and marked. They were shown with flowing beards wearing kaftans. However, in reality it was hard to distinguish a German Jew by outward or physical appearance as they were a highly assimilated community.

•The Jews were referred to as vermin, rats and pests; their movement was compared to that of rodents.

The Nazis motive was to direct the anger and hatred of the people towards those who they saw as undesirable.
