Assembly of Sikkim abolished monarchy and resolved to be a constituent unit of India. A referendumwas held on these issues and majorityof the voters voted yes. On 15 May 1975 the President of India ratified a constitutional amendment that madeSikkim the 22nd state of India.

sikkim was area of nepal. but after the war of anglo-nepal. indians took the land of nepal i.e. sikkim, darjeeling, dehradum and so on. since the persons all residing there are nepali they speak nepali and their culture is just like nepalese.
