Novels are cheaper than manuscript because of this reason it became widely popular very quickly.

Novels filled the void in the life of common people, for readers it definitely opened up new world and possibilities and ideas to crack this exam of life easily.

People could sense their emotions being reflected in novels and hence they started getting connected to it which led to influence common people and the colonisers in India.
