How did NREGA 2005 bring upliftment of the rural areas? Explain

National Rural Employment Guarantee Act 2005 is the world's largest employment scheme in the world. It brought upliftment in the rural areas by the following ways ;

1.  It provided employment opportunities to the rural people.

2.  It took various development and public works like roads, bridges etc in the rural areas.

3.  It worked for the agricultural development of rural areas by building and maintaining canals and other irrigation works. It lead to increase in production.

This act was passed in September 2005. the earth provide hundred days assured employment every year to every rural household in 200 districts. Later, this would be extended to 600 districts. one third of the proposed jobs has been reserved for women
