The Ouija Board party was organized by Lavinia on Saturday.

The narrator’s house was illuminated. Hallock to had to attend the party as he

was to accompany Miss Laura Hinkle at the Ouija Board. All the women belonging

to Lavinia’s book club were sitting in couples to play Ouija Board. Hallock did

not want to attend the party because he feared Helen who had asked him to help her dissuade his friends from playing Ouija Board. However, he had to yield to his wife’s wish. He had to play the Ouija Board with Miss Hinkle.

As he began playing the Ouija Board, Helen’s spirit came in the Ouija Boards in the room and Every Ouija Board started calling his name. Lavinia, his wife was told about the bizarre phenomenon. Everyone became suspicious of Hallock’s relationship with Helen. Lavinia came charging at him and fixed him with an accusing stare. It was at this moment he felt helpless, embarrassed, cornered, and utterly unable to explain why Helen was calling his name. So in bafflement and embarrassment his ears grew crimson, purple, and maroon.

His very relationship with Lavinia was in danger. Lavinia decided to leave him. But fortunately, the misunderstanding was resolved at the end.
