Trustees include the Defence, Home and Finance Ministers.The fund will also enable micro-donations.[4] The minimum donation accepted for the PM CARES Fund is ₹10 (14¢ US).[5] The donations will be tax exempt and fall under corporate social responsibility.[6] The Prime Minister had said that the PMO had received many requests to help in the war against COVID-19. Accordingly, the fund was set up and will be used for disaster management and research.On March 15, 2020, during a video conference of the SAARC Heads of State and Government, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed a Coronavirus Emergency Fund. This emergency fund was set up in response to the global coronavirus pandemic.[1] The initiative seeks to mitigate the risks associated with the coronavirus pandemic in the South Asian region. The other members of the SAARC expressed their support of Narendra Modi and his proposal for the coronavirus emergency fund.
