Peggy told Maddie that if she hadn't ask Wanda that how many dresses she had in her closet then she had never got the idea of drawing hundred dresses and winning the contest.

Wanda was a Polish girl in an all American school. She had an unfamiliar name and different looks because of which she was constantly teased by her classmates.

Peggy, Maddie and the other girls used to make fun of her dresses. Wanda used to tell them that she had a hundred dresses and sixty pairs of shoes even though she wore the same faded blue cotton dress everyday. Fed up with her teasing, she left the school and moved to a big city with her family.

Before leaving she had taken part in an art competition in the school. She had submitted about a hundred drawings of designs of dresses. They were so beautiful that every student of her class was amazed. Later, she gifted all her drawings to her classmates inspite of their teasings.

Because of her acts her classmates not only realised their mistakes but were also impressed by her talents. They were filled with love and confidence for Wanda. In this way, Wanda succeeded in winning the love and confidence of her classmates at the end of the story
