In my opinion It is very easy to say "There should not be reservations" without understanding the real situation. Bhimrao Ambedkar introduced reservations for the backword classes to create a level playing field in jobs and education which would provide them financial and social respect. At that time reservations were the only hope for the backword castes as 99 percent of them were poorer than others. But today the situation has changed and the scenario has become more complex. More and more non-backward castes like the Patels and the Jats are demanding reservations.
When Reservation was Applied …it was only Applied for only 10 Years…But then it became a Political Issue..& No Political Party has Guts to Change that..
I think an Analysis must done seriously that is the Reservation actually Benefiting the so called Oppressed..One of Friend is from a well off family…may be better than most of the Upper castes People but He is Selected at much less Cutoffs than the other Deserving People.
I believe that the General Category is more Isolated from Reserved Ones due to reservation..& not Vice Versa..
