Before the British arrived in India the tribals n the people living near the forests used it for their survival . They used the forest for the raw materials such as fruits, wood to build their homes and to stay alive. They also used the forest products to make medicines

Uses of the forest land before the British rule -
1) Extraction of forest resources which are necessary for the survival.
2) Using as a habitat by the different tribes.
3) Harvesting small twigs and branches from the forest as fuel materials.
There was less danger of the forest being fully destroyed because there was no concept of complete deforestation in order to expand locality or industrial sectors.
