John A Pescud was a chivalrous and gallant man the like of whom are very rare to find in the modern times. Some say that the age of chivalry is past, that the spirit of romance is dead. The age of chivalry is never past, so long as there are people like John A. Pescud. He epitomizes the essence of ‘Romance’, supposed to have died with the Romantic Age.

John A Pescud succeeded in winning the love of Miss Allyn and the approval of Colonel Allyn by the dint of intensity of his love, sincerity, and the risks of following Miss Allyn.

His relation with both his wife and father-in-law was exceptionally warm and loving. They lived happily together even after two years of married life. There was no dilution of love from either side.
