The postmaster had been very rude to Ali who had come to inquire about his daughter's letter. As the postmaster's daughter fell very ill, he waited anxiously for a letter to inform him about her well-being. Among the pile of letters, he spotted one that seemed to be from the next village about his daughter's health. In reality, it was an envelope addressed to Ali. It was as if an electric shock had gone through his body. The realisation that Ali was also a concerned father like him made the postmaster shed his haughty temper.
