How did rain water collect in ghadsiar lake

It was built by Maharawal Gadsi in the 14th century, and used to be the major source of drinking water for the city of Jaisalmer. It attracts water birds in winter and is a popular spot for bird watching, picnics and boating.

Gadsisar Lake Jaisalmer. Gadsisar Lake was a water conversation tank built in 1400 AD, and was constructed under the reign of Maharwal.

Its not an oasis nor a mirage but a man made reservoir built in 14th century by Maharaja Gadsi Singh to collect rain water and cater to the area during hot summer. A short walk from the main road through a paved road, quite close to the famed fort will lead to the lake.
