The rebellion slowly spread from Meerut to Delhi on 9th May 1857 some Sepoys of the regiment at Meerut refuse to do the army drill using the new cartridges. So 85 Sepoys were dismissed from service and sentenced to 10 years in jail for disturbing their officers.
