> The French revolution was the first clear expression of nationalism. After the power was transferred to the citizens, the people claimed that it was their duty to free the other European states from despotism.

> French Armies moved in to countries like Switzerland, Holland, and even states like Brussels, Milan and Warsaw, where they were seen as champions of liberty and revolution.

> After Industrialization in many parts of Europe, a new educated middle class emerged to power that  spread and glorified liberal-revolutionary ideas by forming societies in different parts of Europe.
