Africa is a land full of resources. From centuries, the Africans depended on the land and livestock to meet their daily needs, they rarely worked for wages. Now, when the cattles were brought from Asia as food (beef) for Italian soilders to Africa , the cattles also brought a disease called riderpest also known as cattle plague with them. Then the rinderpest or the deadly disease of cattle plague killed 90% of the African cattle.

The loss of cattle destroyed African livelihood. Planters, mine owners and colonial governments now successfully monopolised their power and forced Africans to work for wages. Control over scarce cattle resource enabled European colonisers to conquer and subdue Africa.
