While Robinson Crusoe was on his voyage, he faced a huge tide. The tide took him to a small cove. Then he looked for a safe place away from wild animals and any other possible dangers. He climbed to the top of the hill. Then is when he discovered that he lived on an Island. The Island seemed quiet and he assumed that it is not inhabited.
