HEY MATE!

⇒This question is taken from the chapter "Evelyn Glennie Listens To Music Without Hearing It" written by "Deborah Cowley". This chapter summarizes a story/journey of a physically disabled girl who worked with determination and made her life a success story.

⇒Evelyn had hearing loss and wanted to pursue her career in music, but her teachers discouraged her. Later, she met Ron Forbes who was a percussionist, he identified Evelyn's potential and helped her by supporting her in pursuing her career and achieving her goal.

⇒Ron Forbes, the percussionist began by tuning two large drums to different notes. He asked Evelyn not to listen to them through her ears but to try and sense the sound some other way.

⇒She realized that she could feel the higher drums from the waist up and lower drums from the waist down. She had now learnt to open her mind and body to sounds and vibrations. Rest was her sheer determination and hardwork which helped her to get on to the top and make her life a success story.

Hope it helps you!

Ron Forbes , a percussionist spotted her potential .
He asked her not to listen through ears but try to sense it some other way.
She realised she could feel the higher drum from the west up and the lower one from the west down.
Forbes repeated the exercise and soon availing discovered that she could send certain notes in different part of her body and mind to sounds and vibrations.
She herself explained , "It pours in through every part of my body. It tingles in the skin my cheekbones and even in my hair."
When she played the xylophone she could change the sound passing up the stick into her fingers.
By learning against the drums she could feel the resonances flowing into her body.
On the wooden floor she used to remove her shoes so that the vibrations may passed through her befit and up her legs.
