UV radiation was discovered in 1801 when the German physicist Johann Wilhelm Ritter observed that invisible rays just beyond the violet end of the visible spectrum darkened silver chloride-soaked paper more quickly than violet light itself.

Ultra violet is a name that we give to the 3 highest energy light
it was first detected by Wilhem
We know silver chloride undergoes thermal decomposition when exposed to sunlight(I hope you'd know)
He observed it undergoing thermal decomporitoin when it was not exposed under visible light.
He split sunlight using a prism and then measured the relative darkening of the chemical as a function of wavelength
(took some reference from internet but I knew the story)
