Sheru was a shepherd Boy who grazed his master's Sheep near the forest at a hill not far from the village. Shortly he got fed up of this monotony and thought of an idea that would entertain him and so he ran toward the village crying "Wolf! Wolf!, the wolf will take my sheep away"

As expected, the Villagers stopped their work and ran to the pasture. But when they got there they didn’t find any wolf but instead saw Sheru laughing at fooling them. He repeated the same after a few days and started laughing at the villagers yet again

Then one evening at the time of sunset the shadows were creeping out over the pasture, and a Wolf really did come out of the forest grass and attacked the Sheep.

Sheru got petrified and sprinted toward the village shouting "Wolf! Wolf!" But the Villagers ignored his calls and did not run to help him as they had before. They thought that they won’t be tricked again and the wolf killed many of his sheep and took some and ran away. Sheru was sorry that he cried wolf to fool the villager and thought he will never cry wolf again and fool the villagers.
