some Indians are the works of the British in a very suspicious manner thought that the British were trying deliberately to spread Christianity in India and defile the religion of Hindus and Muslims they also regarded the social reforms introduced by the British and thought that a foreign government has no right to introduce legalization in their social system

Some of the socIAL reforms were looked upon as a direct attack on the Indian culture and led to discontentment among the people. The introduction of railway was presented on the ground that people of all castes would have to have travel at the same compartment. People felt that the british trying to break down the social order.
