QUESTION:-

How did Sudha Murtey treat the student

ANSWER:-

  • The student named Hanumanthappa was academically brilliant, but had a pale complexion and was financially poor. Ms Sudha Murthy's attention caught him when she saw his picture in a newspaper for attaining the eighth rank in the board examinations of class 10th in Karnataka.

  • He was pale, but there was a charming glow in his eyes. The father of Hanumanthappa was a coolie and he was the oldest of five children. His father was the only worker in the family who earned just rupees forty a day.

  • The scarcity of money compelled the boy to terminate his studies after the 10th, With piqued attention to the education of the boy, Ms Murthy asked him to come to her office in Bengaluru and offered to give him money for any course of study he wanted to take up and in wherever college he wished for.

  • The boy planned to take a room on rent and share it with a colleague. The two boys used to cook for themselves to maintain their expenditures low. Sudha Murtey used to send him eighteen hundred rupees to cover his expenditures for six months.

  • Ms Murthy who is the chairman of Infosys Foundation, appreciated the honesty of the boy because the boy sent her an envelope of money which was left because his college was off for two months.
