Sukapha or Chaolung Sukaphaa was the first King of Ahom Dynasty in Assam. Sukaphaa was the founder of Ahom Dynasty, which rule Assam for 600 years. Sukaphaa was a Prince of Tai state Mong Mao (present day Ruili in Yunnan, China). Sukaphaa left Mong Mao in 1215 and entered Assam via Patkai hills in 1228.
