The mariners were stuck in the land of snow and mist. There was no way to get out. But as the albatross arrived the icebergs broke and provided a way or path for the ship to move. The wind began to blow. It helped the mariners to come out of the icy land.

The albatross save the mariners from the land of ice and snow, when it would fly round the ship. The ice split with a sudden thundering sound . The helsman ( the person steering the ship) steered the ship through the crack. Now a favourable southern wind blew behind us.
