Avva or the narrator’s grandmother was a wonderful student. She read, repeated and recited all her lessons with great enthusiasm and concentration. She did an amazing amount of homework. Hence, within the time limit that she had set for herself, she was able to learn to read fluently. Therefore, according to her teacher’s (granddaughter) opinion, she had passed with flying colours.
