How did the author start the story?
Answers
Answer:
As an author you need to make a backbone of your story how nice the flow is, how will your story revolve around a certain plot, the problems, the characters, the dialogues, your own way of writing, twists, descriptions and the feelings but the crucial one is how will you gonna make your readers drawn to the story, you need to catch their interest in the beginning of the story because if your beginning is not that catchy the readers won't read any further.

Answer:
It depends on the author and ofcourse his/her Genre.
Basically, it's an unwritten rule to tell the theme of your story in the first line or first few lines.
If you consider Lolita, Fire of my loins either hooks you or disgusts you.
For the novel, Frankenstein, You will rejoice to hear that no disaster has accompanied the commencement of an enterprise which you have regarded with such evil forebodings., This line forebodes to what's going to happen.
If you consider Amish Tripathi's writing, his opening line always has a sense of urgence to it.
Few of books I read has simple lines that either tell the thought where their story took a turn or where there's a change in their life style.
Even publisher's look at your first few chapters and guage your story and storytelling skills. Although, I've never published a book myself, I can tell that first line, first fewlines, first chapter, or first few chapters have to keep the reader hooked up. Else, the reader gets strayed away from the pages of your story.
I've few first good lines myself.
Today, I took the reins of time.
A deed how benevolent it might seems, ends up throwing you the worst possible outcome.(As I see it, now it seems this line is inspired from Frankenstein novel!)
Today, we broke up! Rather did she break me apart.
My colleague digs the above line and always reminds me that I should keep writing and hone my skills. Ive become a favourite author for a person even before I've become a published author.
So, make it a point to write your heart out and try telling your story or write your story as an aftermath to your first line.(This is my belief, there might be other ways to write too.)
Remember, as some good author has phrased, you don't write, you bleed unto the pages.
