Battle plassey took place on 23rd june 1757. it was the first vivtory of british over india. it was fought between surajudaullah and the british. surajudaullah's commander was mir zafar who was promised by robert clive thet he would be made the new nawab of bengal if he would betray surajudaullah and not participate in the battle. as per the deal mir zafar was made the new nawab of begal but the original powers were still in the hands of the british. therefore, surajudaullah was assasinated.
