Answer :
This question is based on the short story 'Two Gentlemen of Verona by A.J. Cronin.
The two boys, Nicola and Jacopo, tried to prevent the author from finding out the real purpose of their visit to Polenta by rushing out of the car the moment it stopped and telling the narrator that they would meet him in an hour.
The boys did not succeed in hiding the real purpose of the visit as the narrator got curious and entered the villa which was a hospital. He found out about their family history and the ongoing treatment of their sister, Lucia, from a nurse in the hospital.
